a one-stop shop for IT outsourcing

CWS effortlessly connects and integrates multiple applications and communications devices while supporting load balancing, failover and single reporting - key features that clearly separate CWS from the competition. CWS users can easily manage, receive, process, deliver and archive fax, SMS, telex, HTTP, FTP, email, pager and voice transactions - and much more.

cws

Acting as a middleware, CWS allows organisations to communications-enable their existing system by simply adding communications modules like fax, SMS, email, telex, and voice. This amounts to large cost savings as it provides a more cost-effective solution than purchasing separate communications servers with accompanying customisation costs to your company's CRM / ERP / SCM / backend applications. Integrations to other Ditium products and popular enterprise applications such as SAP, Venali, AS400, Oracle, Siebel and more, are also achieved through application connectors for quick and seamless integrations with client systems, at a fraction of the cost of customised integrations.

Benefits

Organizations of all sizes, from remote offices to mission critical enterprises, benefit from CWS's powerful features. Why not join the growing list of satisfied clients? Look at some of the critical benefits your organization could be enjoying today:

  • Reduce cost - Eliminating the manual labour costs, material costs for printers, fax machines, equipment maintenance, paper, ink supplies, telephony charges and more
  • Single communications platform and vendor - Ensures easy maintenance.
  • Modular design - Enables users to add features only when they need them, eliminating unnecessary costs.
  • Scalable architecture - Supports multiple systems and provides load balancing, ensuring that your needs will never outgrow Umero. The more your business communications grow, the more powerful Umero becomes.
  • Easy integration - Supports multiple applications for smooth, consistent workflows across the organization.
  • Complete audit trail of transactions - With reports generated for each module or workflow keeps you informed and alerted to problems.
  • Increased productivity - Sending and receiving messages from a single application or interface increases productivity.
  • Simplify and streamline communications - Directed inward dial (DID) routing and other features simplify and streamline communications.
  • Easy integration - ERP, CRM, SCM, PBX and other systems integration revitalize customer service.
  • Better customer service - Database integrations unify departmental workflow processes, which benefits your bottom line - and helps retain customers.

features

ommunications Workflow Server integrates applications like ERP, CRM, SCM, DMS to communications platforms for email, fax, SMS, voice, telex. Umero embraces growth, simplifies installation and provides centralized reporting, approval and auditing capabilities.

Features include: Services Controller, Workflow Designer, Workflow Director, Audit Trial, Module, History, Reports, Document merge, Document Conversion, Load Balancing, Fault Tolerance, Distributed Architecture, and MSDE/MSSQL support.

Services Controller

Module Administrator provides centralized management of all modules, and ensures that each transaction is processed according to the setting defined for each module.

On the Module Administrator window, you can perform the following tasks:

  • Start/stop modules.
  • Set the operation mode of modules to simulation/normal.
  • Turn on/off the auto-start mode for modules.
  • Send/read simulated jobs.

Workflow Designer

Graphical interface that allows the System Administrator to easily define the various workflows required by the users. Based on the status returned by each application, the job can then be directed to different applications.

On the Workflow Designer window you can perform the following tasks:

  • Create, modify and delete a workflow
  • Assign values to user-defined or exported custom tags for customization purposes
  • Add and modify job routing rules for Umero Director
  • Develop and test workflows in the design mode, and implement workflows in the production mode.

Workflow Director

Lets users apply rule-based content routing for their workflows:
  • Allows jobs to be routed to different modules based on keywords in the job content, recipient address or custom tags within the job itself for example, "To", "From", "Subject" fields or a keyword like "Purchase Order".
  • Least Cost Routing (LCR) capabilty where Umero routes jobs to different workflow branches based on outdialing prefix numbers and where they will be replaced or removed based on the local IDD codes.

Audit Trail

Every job submitted to the CWS Server is tracked and its status at different stages of its workflow recorded. Error Codes and messages generated are also captured. Users can designate regular time intervals for these records to be archived as Microsoft Access Tables, making these data available as management tools for decision-making.

  • Tracking of each job status, stages and time of each job
  • Checking of error codes and messages capability with error logs

Module History

The CWS system maintains a complete history record of all jobs and their statuses. Users can see clearly which jobs are completed, being processed or have failed. A system log is also kept to provide historical data on module statuses, error codes and messages. This is particularly useful for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes.

  • History record of all jobs and their statuses.
  • System log function providing historical data on module statuses, error codes and messages

Reports

The CWS Reporter generates summary and detailed reports for all message transactions. Reports are generated from predefined profiles, which includes selection criteria based on job types (email, fax, SMS, pager, telex), workflows and date range. Each profile contains 7 standard reports as follows:

  • Job Summary
  • Job Summary by Day
  • Channel Usage
  • Channel Usage by Day
  • Job Detailed
  • Job Detailed by Module
  • Job Attempts

The generated reports can be exported and saved to external formats like Acrobat Format (PDF), Crystal Reports (RPT), HTML 3.2, HTML 4.0, MS Excel, MS Word, ODBC, RTF, CSV, TXT, XML.

Document Merge

CWS's document merge function allows users to merge data taken from connected applications with standard templates to create formatted documents like invoices, purchase orders, delivery order in TXT, RTF or DOC format .

  • Flexibility in designing any form containing practically any type of field without using any form designer software.
  • Different Merge templates can be used for each job. Different jobs passing through the same workflow can produce different forms.
  • Ability to process large number of jobs in a production environment
Supports Unicode text and can merge Chinese, Japanese and Korean* characters.

Document Conversion

CWS Conversion provides CWS with the ability to convert any Word, Excel, HTML, PDF and PS files into the formats required by the Umero module for delivering a required document(s) for example TIFF or PDF.

  • Supports Unicode/Double Byte Text Conversion on Windows NT/2000
  • Supports PostScript 3.0 Chinese Language Conversion (CJK Support)
  • Supports Thai, Korean, Japanese and European character conversion
  • Ability to change the look and feel of the final output files

Load Balancing

For applications requiring high throughput, selected components of CWS Server can be deployed as a cluster to cater for load balancing and increased reliability with Enterprise Edition.

With the appropriate hardware and network infrastructure, CWS Enterprise provides companies with a mission critical communications platform.

CWS Enterprise is delivered with two base licenses that are configured to work in a Master / Slave configuration.

  • Maximizes system performance by directing outbound faxes to the server with the highest availability.
  • Automated fail-over support with clustering

Fault Tolerance

CWS Server can be deployed as a cluster for fault tolerance allowing the ability of a system component to fail without causing the entire system to shut down.
  • Hot and Cold standby with the ability to continue operation in the event of a power failure, hardware failures with fail over capability where the slave server can take over when master server is down.
  • No lost of jobs when fail over occurs, it should recover automatically by Module Manager
  • Short break in network connection should not caused fail over to activate
  • Long break in network should result in proper failover

Distributed Architecture

CWS Server employs a distributed, scalable architecture, comprising high-performance components communicating through Microsoft's Message Queue and SQL Server. This distributed architecture enables connected applications in a workflow to run independently, while jobs are scheduled and prioritized for assured delivery to applications that are off-line or unavailable.

MSDE/MSSQL Support

Umero Production and Enterprise versions supports MSSQL 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000). This is highly recommended for use in production environments.
